The war has begun between the two smartphone giants with their future proof smartphones – Google Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Many people will agree to the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is arguably the best of the best when it comes to phablets. It has the rich set of tools you want and it’s just between a smartphone and a tablet. It blends perfectly in this device and excels in lot of areas.
So with that Google Nexus 6 is new in this competition and will take some time to achieve the benchmark set by Galaxy Note 4. But then again it does have the advantage of putting in Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Build Quality & Hardware
Both the phones are constructed primarily out of plastic but you will get a slightly tough build quality in the Nexus 6 just because its plastic case provides more solid feel. It perfectly fits in your hand being too large. Its lot more conversant holding in the hand because it’s wider, taller, thicker and heavier than the Note 4. The Note 4 has a sophisticated look that we all appreciate just because of its beautiful casing in the rear back and also have the metal trim bezel around its sides.
With the design of the Nexus 6 we really love the fact that it has dual front speakers to project audio towards us which makes it very ideal for watching videos with great sound. For the Note 4 it is equipped with finger-print sensors, IR blaster, heart-rate sensor at the back of it, micro SD card slot, removable battery and has all the advantages of the S pen.
Google Nexus 6 Tech Specs:
6 inch AMOLED display
1440 x 2560 pixels resolution
493 ppi pixel density
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Tech Specs:
5.7 inch Super AMOLED display
1440 x 2560 pixels resolution
515 ppi pixel density
These two devices are stuffed with Quad HD Display with a larger 6 inch AMOLED Display in Nexus 6 versus a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display in the Note 4. The details are pretty much identical despite of having slight differences on paper. Both are super sharp in detail but the Note 4’s AMOLED panel has more pleasing qualities. Specifically Note 4’s display is more accurate and brighter when it comes to producing colors. So those are two attributes that really make the Note 4 stand up over the Nexus 6’s display.
Being a Nexus device the Nexus 6 benefits from having the latest and greatest android build – Lollipop versus the Touchwiz UI of Note 4. So with that you get all the new features of Lollipop along with the support for multiple users, the built to pin apps and even have the power to prioritize the notifications. In due time those features will be available in the Note 4 too but not that sooner. The Nexus 6 and Lollipop really stands tall for a great smartphone experience.

Thanks to their gigantic displays. They are fantastic for surfing the web with lot of detail but with the Note 4 we have a slight advantage with its S pen to give you a desktop like experience.

But it does not do well being a phablet just because it does not have the same level of enhancements that we see in the Note 4. In particular you have the multi-window feature where you have true multi-tasking which makes good use of the large screen with the one-handed operation feature and several other features that really makes good use of the phablet category phone.

Future Proof Phones
Both of these devices are future proof as they are packed with the same cutting edge hardware powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and both are responsive with similar tasks though for some reason the Nexus 6 is a bit snappy while navigating across the UI. With the Note 4 you may experience certain delay for certain operations.
They both have the Google Play music application but you have also the Touchwiz music player with the Note 4. You would simple love the dual front speakers in the Nexus 6 but the Note 4 actually has a stronger output of 85 db in comparison with the 75 db of Google Nexus 6.

Both phones are undoubtedly capable of taking some stunning photos and videos with their cameras. You have a 13 megapixel camera in the Nexus 6 and a larger 16 megapixel camera in the Note 4. Between these two you would love taking photos by Note 4 more than the Nexus 6 just because you have more control over taking shots while you have larger set of shooting modes and even manual controls. Not only that, its quality is more prettier and has lot more detail with more natural exposure and under lower lighting conditions its shots are brighter, more crisp looking and less noisy. When it comes to shooting 1080p 4K videos we can find the Note 4 producing more favorable results because of the great focus than that of the Nexus 6.
Nexus 6 vs Galaxy Note 4 Camera
Both of these devices are stuffed with 3220 mAh batteries but between them Note 4’s battery life is superior. The Note 4 is able to achieve a mark of about 8hrs of battery life whereas the Nexus 6 can manage it to about 7hrs.
You might want to go with the Google Nexus 6 for a pretty good value of $650 versus the minimum cost of the Galaxy Note 4 of $730 with Sprint and goes up with the other carriers. The Nexus 6 is a fantastic device but in terms of phablet it’s not that great at all. It works great with the Android 5.0 Lollipop but does not have many customizations which can make use of its large screen. Whereas the Note 4, even though it’s running the Touchwiz, may not have an appealing UI but it’s still filled with a lot of features that make good use of the large screen. Along with that the Note 4 has got the multitasking, stunning performance in taking photos and videos, longer battery life and its rich tools like the IR Blaster, Micrso SD card slot, removable battery and the finger print sensor makes it stand out in the competition.Google+
