iPhone 6 (4.7 inches) and iPhone 6 Plus (5.5 inches) are the two new products we have never seen before from Apple in terms of size. That’s a big step up from the original iPhone 3.5 inches display and of course the reason behind this development is that Apple wants to grab the market share with the Android users. Those who are planning to buy one of these products must be wondering about which one to choose. Let’s discuss about everything that’s different between these two models, which one you should buy and why?
Apple never addressed as to why they are up to releasing bigger phones? But everybody really knows it’s because Android is beating on the back door by releasing new and bigger products and are dominating that part of the market share and Apple wants some of that as well.
We have seen lot of Android users have started using iPhone. For them this post would be a real interesting one. Of course the size is the number one difference between these two products.
The iPhone 6 which is a 4.7inches model is already a big step up from the 4.0 model with a lot of extra screen space. The iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7 inches IPS display. We can also see a bump up in the resolution to 1334 x 750 pixels with a 326 Pixel Density.
Now, the iPhone 6 Plus has a higher resolution. It has a 1920 x 1080 pixels but 1080p resolution is not a great deal now-a-days. Multiple smartphones in the market have this resolution already. So the pixel density is a little bit higher i.e. 401 PPI so the viewing content, pictures, movies is going to be a little bit sharper on the iPhone 6 Plus due to the extra pixels. Aside from that there is really no difference between the displays. Contrast ratio i.e. 1400:1 (for iPhone 6) and 1300:1 (for iPhone 6 Plus) is almost the same and other than the size and pixel density there is not much difference. So it’s almost a personal preference whether or not you want a larger display like a mini iPad or a just a standard iPhone 6 display.
It was rumored that the display would be covered with or build with a crystal glass but unfortunately no one has been able to confirm that and Apple did not address that at all in the event so it’s just a Gorilla Glass.
The iPhone 6 with its large 5.5 inches display is going to create a problem for the one-handed use. Fortunately Apple looked into it and they created a software solution although it’s nothing new as it is already present in Android for a while. The solution is that if you touch the touch ID sensor twice and the whole screen scales down half way where you would be able to use it with one-handed operation which is cool. You just need to double tap the button.
If you are planning to buy the iPhone 6 Plus take it into account that it’s a pretty big phone and it can be harder to store and carry with you in your pocket but if you really need it and can manage all these difficulties it’s going to be an absolutely amazing phone.
The first feature that the iPhoen 6 Plus has over the iPhone 6 is in its camera. Apple decided to put real Optical Image Stabilization inside of the iPhone 6 Plus camera. What this means? It’s simple, when you are recording video you are not going to get any kind of shake. It’s real smooth. So the iPhone 6 Plus camera is definitely a better upgrade than the iPhone 6.
Another major selling point of iPhone 6 Plus is its Battery. Because it’s a larger phone it has a bigger housing and more room for a bigger battery. Apple put a bigger battery of 2915 mAh into iPhone 6 Plus versus 1810 mAh of the iPhone 6. iPhone 6 Plus has got a Music Playback up to 80 hrs versus 50 hrs in iPhone 6. So the battery backup in iPhone 6 Plus is 36% more than that of iPhone 6.
So for the extra dollars that you are going to spend for the iPhone 6 Plus you are going to get a larger battery, larger display and a better camera with few other differences. So the iPhone 6 Plus has got pretty clear advantages over the iPhone 6.
So if you are planning to buy an iPhone 6 Plus you can surely get the best out of iPhone with a better Camera, better battery and a better display for just a few more bucks. Share your thoughts and subscribe to our blog to stay updated on the latest technology updates.Google+
